Omid

This is Omid Haji Maghsoudi. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Pennsylvania, Department of Radiology. I am glad to be part of the Center for Biomedical Image Computing and Analytics (CBICA). My current main research focuses on developing image and data processing to estimate breast cancer risk based on medical records and Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT) scans. I am honored to be supervised by Dr. Despina Kontos.

I received my Ph.D. in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from Temple University in December 2018. I developed image, data, and signal processing algorithms to analyze animal locomotion for neuroscience and biomechanics applications. We evaluated my algorithms for different applications, especially, to study the effect of a novel treatment on paralyzed animals caused by spinal cord injury (this project is under progress). I was mentored by Dr. Andrew Spence who has made my stay (August 2014 till December 2018) in the Spence's Lab to be such an interesting and memorable journey.

In addition, I have my M.S. degree in Medical Radiation Medicine from the Shahid Beheshti University of Iran in 2012. I developed image processing methods for Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE). Last but not least, I received my B.S. degree in Bioelectrical Engineering from the Isfahan University of Iran in 2009.

I am passionate about learning and developing image, data, and signal processing methods for biomedical imaging applications and devices.
